Christmas

In Poland, December 24th is celebrated as Christmas Eve. According to the tradition, we prepare twelve meatless dishes. The dinner starts as soon as the first star appears in the sky. First of all, we share the wafer and wish each other Merry Christmas and all the best for the following year. Then we consume the dishes, we must try all of them. After that, we open gifts from Santa  (left under the Christmas tree). At midnight some people decide to go for the midnight mass. People gather in the church to celebrate Jesus birth. And that is how we move to the 25th December. We celebrate that day by spending time with families and friends, we go for a walk, chat. There is also the second day of Christmas, 26th December, which is also free from work or school.
